Arrest History in Walker County
Walker County Sheriff's deputies, LaFayette, Rossville, and Chickamauga police officers, Georgia State Patrol troopers, and other authorized agencies can create arrest records. The originating agency keeps its officer report. Walker Detention creates a separate booking and custody record after transport. A magistrate may create bond and initial-appearance records, while the Clerk opens a case file after prosecutors bring charges into court.
Each product answers a different question. A booking confirms an intake and records the charges received by the jail. It does not establish guilt or guarantee that prosecutors filed the same charge. A sound Walker County arrest history follows the event from agency report to jail entry and, when a prosecution exists, to the final court disposition.
Walker County Daily Arrest PDFs
The Sheriff's Daily Jail Reports index separates Daily Intake from Daily Release reports by date. Intake reports fit a known arrest date; release reports help establish when county custody ended. Check adjacent dates when transport or processing may have crossed midnight.
The official interface is a dated log, not a live statewide name database. A missing entry on one day does not rule out an arrest, another booking facility, or processing after the report closed.

Walker County AIS Booking Delay
Walker County does not publish a conventional live name-search roster. The Automated Inmate Information System fills the current-custody role by telephone. The public path is the Sheriff's main line, option 3 for Detention, then option 1. Option 2 is reserved for outside law enforcement.
The Sheriff warns that booking can take eight hours or more before information becomes available. If a very recent arrest is absent, allow for processing, check the next Daily Intake report, and confirm whether another jail received the person. The delay does not prove release or a database error.
What a Walker County Arrest Record Shows
A Walker County arrest and booking record can connect an agency event to jail custody, bond, and a later case. Public reports expose only part of the underlying inventory. Medical, classification, housing, and security-watch details should not be assumed public.

Walker County Detention Booking
The Walker County Detention Division says each arriving inmate passes through the same booking process regardless of charge. Processing creates custody identifiers, fingerprints and an agency photograph, received charges, and bond or hold data. After processing, the person has an opportunity to call family, counsel, or a bondsman.
The detention source places those fields in context. The jail holds pretrial inmates and some people awaiting transfer to Georgia corrections, so custody stage determines which lookup channel works.
Recent Arrests and Booking Logs
Walker County's official booking coverage is split between date-indexed Daily Intake and Daily Release PDFs and the telephone AIS. Reports supply chronology for a chosen date. AIS is stronger for checking whether a specific person remains in custody after processing.
Neither source is a lifetime database. A released person may fall outside current-custody information, an arresting agency may use another facility, and a daily report covers only its stated period. For older detail, request the booking record from the Sheriff and check the court disposition.
Walker County S-301 Arrest Request
The Sheriff's S-301 request form can seek a report, photographs, video, 911 CAD printout, or voice recording. It asks for incident date and time, exact address, case or call number, desired product, delivery choice, and contact information. Distinguish the officer's arrest report from the jail booking record.

Georgia's three-business-day rule concerns the response, not guaranteed completion of complex media review. Ask for segregable public portions when redaction or an active investigation limits release.

Walker County City Arrest Reports
A city officer's report does not become a Sheriff's report merely because Walker Detention handled the booking. LaFayette Police, Rossville Public Safety, and Chickamauga Police retain their own incident and arrest records. The Sheriff retains the county booking. Georgia State Patrol and other agencies likewise keep their reports.
Start with the location, but confirm the actual agency. A Rossville address can involve a Sheriff's investigation, and a Chickamauga mailing address does not establish city police jurisdiction. When uncertain, request the booking's arresting-agency field before sending the report request.
Walker County Arrests in GCIC
Covered fingerprintable arrest data flows from the arresting agency to the Georgia Crime Information Center. Prosecutors and courts later report dispositions so the cycle can show conviction, dismissal, nolle prosequi, acquittal, or another outcome. Name differences, absent fingerprints, and missing disposition reports can create gaps.
Georgia Felon Search costs $15 and is limited to reported in-state felony convictions. It is not a complete Walker County arrest search. To address an apparent error in your own history, obtain the certified court disposition and contact the source agency. GCIC needs documentation and cannot invent another office's correction.
Walker County Misdemeanor Release Change
The Sheriff's homepage announced that, effective July 1, 2024, misdemeanor arrests no longer qualified for O/R or UJR release and linked preset misdemeanor bond amounts. That dated operational notice explains why an older release pattern may not match a newer booking.
The notice does not mean every misdemeanor defendant is denied every form of release. Consult the current bond schedule, the actual bond order, and Sheriff or court instructions for the specific matter. Later judicial action can replace intake bond information.
Walker County Custody After Transfer
A person sentenced to Georgia custody may appear in Walker AIS while awaiting transfer and later in GDC Find an Offender. County and state tools describe different stages. Federal custody uses the Bureau of Prisons locator rather than either Georgia channel.
The official GDC Find an Offender search advertises name, description, GDC ID, and case-number inputs. First Offender completions are not published there.
The state screen becomes useful after custody leaves the county jail. A missing GDC result does not answer whether Walker County holds someone pretrial.
Arrests vs Convictions
An arrest record documents official custody or an arresting event. A conviction record documents a court's judgment of guilt. Between them may be a decision not to file, dismissal, acquittal, plea to another count, or another disposition.
